Many people have wondered if expiration dates always correct and well they actually are not. Expiration dates are usually a week or two earlier then they should be, causing many people to dump their food. All this good food has been going to waste for no reason when it could be donated to families in need. These false expiration dates have caused almost 40% of the food in stores to go down the drain instead of putting it to good use. However, these foods are not allowed to be donated to needy families according to the law and no one really knows why. Many companies should put an end to these false expiration dates and begin to put them closer to when they actually should be. Doing this would held reduce the food waste and also help the environment by reducing the trash as well.
